"Perspectives on Corporate Governance and Institutions"

GRFCG brings another opportunity to discuss "Perspectives on Corporate Governance & Institutions" with Professor Alessandro Zattoni, who has significantly contributed towards building the theory of corporate governance during the last two decades.

Participants who wish to discuss their future research prospects in corporate governance with Professor Alessandro Zattoni can send a brief abstract in 500- 700 words stating the research problem which will be taken up for discussion during the workshop. The abstracts would be screened for novelty, scope and larger implications and selected ones would be incorporated in the workshop.

Alessandro Zattoni is Professor of Strategy and the Dean of the Department of Business and Management. Before joining LUISS, he held faculty positions at Bocconi University of Milan and Parthenope University of Naples.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and received a PhD in Business Administration from Bocconi University. During his PhD, he spent one year at the Sol Snider Entrepreneurial Research Center, Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. More recently, he has been Visiting Fellow at the School of Accountancy, Faculty of Business at the Queensland University of Technology; WIAS (Waseda Institute for Advanced Studies), Waseda University; and Groningen University.

His major interest of research is corporate governance, with a focus on board of directors, governance codes, IPOs, and business groups. His publications appear in several journals including Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Management, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Journal of World Business, Journal of Business Ethics, Corporate Governance: An International Review, Industrial and Corporate Change, British Journal of Management, Journal of Management and Governance.

He has been screening editor (2008-13) and co Editor-in-Chief of Corporate Governance: An International Review (2013-18). He is currently an Advisory Board Member of CGIR, an Editorial Board Member of Journal of Management Studies since 2012 and a Consulting Editor of Journal of World Business. He has been national representative (2012-15) of EURAM, and is currently a member of the Scientific Council and a Fellow of the same organization. He became a board member of the International Corporate Governance Society (ICGS) in November 2019 and the President of the same Society in January 2020.

He has been the Director of the Strategic and Entrepreneurial Management Department (2009-2012) and the Director of the Open Enrollment Programs (2012-2015) of SDA Bocconi School of Management and so a member of the Faculty Committee and of the Executive Committee of the School. More recently, he has been a member Associate Dean for executive education and life-long learning (2015-17) and a member of the Steering Committee of LUISS Business School.

He is currently also a board member of one company and a foundation and, at the same time, a statutory auditor of a company and an art foundation.
