Dr. Gerhard Schnyder is a Reader in International Management at the Institute for International Management at Loughborough University London. Before this appointment Gerhard was Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, and Reader in Comparative Management at King’s College London (2009-2017). At King’s Gerhard was the director of the MSc in International Management (2014-2017).

Gerhard graduated from the University of Lausanne (Switzerland) in 2001 with a BA (Licence) in Political Science. He obtained an MA (Diplôme d’études approfondies, DEA) in Political Science from the Universities of Lausanne and Geneva (Switzerland) in 2003. He then went on to doctoral studies and completed his PhD in Political Science at the University of Lausanne (Switzerland) in January 2008. He is currently finishing an MA in Social Science Data Analysis at the University of Essex (graduation expected in January 2018).

Gerhard did a post doc at the Centre for Business Research (CBR) of the University of Cambridge (2007-2009) working on the ESRC funded research project “Law, Finance, and Development” ( RES-156-25-0037). In 2009, he also worked on as a research fellow at SOAS, University of London and the University of Bath, before joining King’s College London as a Lecturer in Comparative Management in September 2009.

He has published over twenty refereed journal articles and book chapters and co-authored a book on the history of Swiss corporate governance. He has obtained several research fellowships from the Swiss National Science Foundation and a large grant from the Economic and Social Research Council. He is member of the editorial advisory board of ‘Accounting, Law and Economics – A Convivium’.

Gerhard has taught Global Corporate Governance, Comparative Management, International Business, and International Strategy modules.
